Farcie’s body of work

A layer of foam to give Farcie a more solid and weatherproof layer. Here she is! Still headless 😅

I have been approached by many curious people who spotted Farcie from the road, so I’m hoping that’s a good sign that people will want to come by and say hello while she’s marching.

Air Farce One - Progress!

Turning a lump of cardboard into a luxury jet is no easy task - just ask Boeing!

Turns out the cardboard wings were too fragile to stand up to the weight of the mortar, so they needed to be reinforced with wood and a butt ton of duct tape. Yes, @jrabach, that’s a TECHNICAL term.

Will people still be able to hit this pinata? Well… maybe, but it might not be so much fun

Stay tuned for more progress to come!

Now it’s all plastered up! Goofy child included for scale

Air Farce One

Farcie will be traveling with an actual pinata, inspired more directly by the luxury jet Donald Trump is totally legally not allowed to accept. Let’s put this baby together 😎💪

Progress!

Some of the volunteers got together to work on this Trojan horse that looks like a pinata and it's slowly starting to look like a horse! I even had to assure a few concerned neighbors that the horse will not remain headless indefinitely. In hindsight, perhaps I should have made the head more of a priority than I did.

The group had fun doing the incredibly messy and tedious task of shoving muddy paper into chicken wire while my speakers started to blast sounds of a couple screaming at each other in the middle of a playlist that was titled, "energetic protest songs".

Here I was, hosting a small gathering to build a headless horse in my driveway while filling the street with the sounds of angry shouting on speakers. Super normal stuff.

When everyone arrived and realized that, much like our president, I am clearly not qualified to hold…

Jaxy, would it be okay if I created some lapel pins with a spinoff graphic of Farcie to give away? I don’t want to step on your hooves; I only want to echo your awesome imagery and give people a little memento to keep the spark alive. If that is inappropriate, I totally get it. I don’t know where the line lies between continuity and plagiarism in a case such as this.

I would certainly let you approve the design before I print any. And I can create something unique instead.

Farcie’s got back (and neck)

Farcie has a spine (unlike SOME people)

The team has been making progress on our Trojan horse that looks like a pinata (please no hitting)! As we have been building, we've incorporated everyone's ideas. It has been a lot of fun! Whenever someone takes a look at what we have so far, they've got a new idea to work into the project.

Next week, we will start to slap some paper on this beast, so if you'd like to help with that or if you have ideas you'd like to share with the team, email us or comment below.

The rise of Farcie, the Trojan Horse that looks like a Pinata

The wooden skeleton for our Trojan Horse has been constructed!

I have already started getting odd looks from neighbors, but if I'm being honest, that's really nothing new.

ree

Our team has also decided to give Farcie a companion pinata that is ok for people to hit eventually. Farcie will carry the yes-hitting airplane pinata on his back to make it easier for people to see. And of course, the luxury mini jet plane will be dubbed Air Farce One.

The team will make even more progress tomorrow, so stay tuned!

If you want to be involved, please reach out to us!

Farcie: The Trojan Horse that looks like a pinata (please no hitting)

The first big update on this project is here!

Our Trojan Horse that looks like a pinata but isn’t an actual pinata and has no candy inside has a new name!

Farcie!

It’s fitting isn’t it? The Trojan Horse was full of lies, piñatas are full of candy which we all lie about eating way too much of, and Donald Trump has decided to go ahead and accept this giant stupid luxury jet that is in no way legal under the guise of it totally not being for him (lie).

When I first brought up this idea and realized that I was also volunteering to build this, I knew that transporting the materials in my little electric hippie mobile would be slightly challenging.

But here it is, the first round of materials packed into my widdle car. Let’s get to building! Stay tuned for updates!

Trojan Pinata - the preparations

Piñatas have become a ubiquitous symbol of celebration and joy across the globe and enjoyed today by many cultures (Thanks, Mexico!)

But making a giant one is going to require a lot of paper. Like, a LOT of paper. And what happens if someone gets confused and takes a whack at our Trojan Pinata? An understandable error, but one I’d like to avoid if possible.

I have been madly texting friends, loved ones, and people I owe favors to asking them if they would please allow me to have their children’s old art projects that they keep forgetting to throw away.

Once the text messages were sent, I started off by cleaning my daughter’s desk and oh wow didn’t realize I had so much paper already. At least, we’re off to a good start. 😅

The Trojan Pinata

The team has been working on an idea to add an exciting and interactive element to the March to give members of the community a chance to make their voices heard.

A Trojan Piñata Sculpture

Concept Art (AI)

ree

We need to get people to WANT to be involved. Not everyone is going to be able to do a 12 day march, but they might be able to join one of the community touch points where they can see our Trojan Piñata up close. Members of the community will have a chance to add their own touch to it. A name, a message, as long as it keeps with the spirit of non-violence and inclusivity.

The vision is this - the sculpture will be approximately 12’ tall, something to catch the eye (but hopefully not the underside of a bridge). The marchers will bring colorful paper and paint to let anyone…

This is going to be the best part of the march, Jaxy. Brilliant!
